Recipe

One page per recipe. The reader-facing sections are Description, Ingredients, and Instructions. Ingredient lines are written one per line as page title; quantity; unit; role; preparation. The page title can name an ingredient record or another Recipe, such as Simple syrup. Every title is an internal wiki link; a red link is valid while the target is being created. Only Ingredient records participate in nutrition and substitution calculations.

description and instructions are the preferred parameter names. The existing lede and method names remain supported for existing pages and forms. When both are supplied, the preferred name wins.

The computed Substitutions for this recipe section, when present, is supplemental content after Instructions. Units the calculator understands (quantities may be decimals, fractions like 1/2, or mixed like 1 1/2): tsp, tbsp, cup, each. Roles in use: creaming, melted, cutin, cooking, dressing, leaven, bind, liquid, sweet, structure, finish, juice, zest, aroma, season, inclusion, protein, starch, moisture, body, leaven-dry. Test any change at Template:Recipe/testcases through Template:Recipe/sandbox before deploying it.
